Rachael Heard is Kyle’s widow, partner of nearly 20 years, and the heart behind the Kyle Heard Foundation. After losing Kyle she made a promise that his name, his impact, and the way he cared for his people would continue forward. Through the Foundation, Rachael is turning grief into purpose by creating meaningful support for first responders and their families while building a legacy that Kyle’s boys can always be proud of.
Kevin Brugaletta

Kevin Brugaletta was a Rangemaster with the San Francisco Police Department and someone who understands the importance of taking care of those who take care of others. We first connected with Kevin through The6 Clinic and Tunnel to Towers events, and that connection quickly grew into a trusted friendship. Kevin brings that same heart to the Foundation, helping us make sure responders and their families feel supported, connected, and cared for.
James Deurloo
Board Member, Secretary
Battalion Chief James Deurloo worked alongside Kyle at Rancho Adobe, where their relationship grew far beyond the firehouse. Through years of serving together, involvement with the union and association, and a friendship shared with the entire Heard family, James knew both the firefighter Kyle was and the person behind the uniform. He brings that connection to the Foundation with a commitment to honoring his friend by continuing to take care of the people and community they served together.
